Job Summary:
The Construction Laborer is responsible for loading, unloading, and moving building materials, machinery, and/or tools as necessary to appropriate locations. works in a construction setting, with outdoor exposure during the workday. This position will ensure timely completion of fence panel installation and assist with the concrete pour. Construction Labor is fast-paced, result-oriented, and task-oriented with a proactive work ethic and naturally meticulous organizational skills.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
  • Load, unload, or identify building materials, machinery, or tools, distributing them to the appropriate locations as per project plans/specifications
  • Control traffic passing near, in, or around work zones. Direct vehicle traffic.
  • Shovel materials to and from construction areas
  • Operate vehicles, tools, and equipment as needed, including those with trailers
  • Clean and prepare construction sites as needed, including disposing of waste materials and digging trenches
  • Operate a variety of hand and power tools, including drills, forklifts, skid loaders, and other tools as directed by management
  • Reports safety incidents immediately to Foreman, Safety Director, and/or HR manager
Skillset:
  • Able to use a computer and a phone
  • Able to use office equipment (fax, copy machine, scanner)
  • Must be able to move quickly from one area to another
  • Able to operate a vehicle
  • Ability to obtain security clearances
  • Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
Must exhibit:
  • Time management and organizational skills
  • Computer, internet, and software knowledge and skill
  • Dependability and reliability
  • Knowledge of state and federal OSHA regulations/compliance laws
Personnel in this position must also:
  • Demonstrable knowledge of and skills in:
  • Operating hand and power tools, operating construction equipment, vehicles, including trailers, fence installation, bollard installation, handling rebar, concrete, safety practices on the job site.
  • Basic knowledge of modern construction principles
